What will your job look like

We are looking for an experienced IT Project Manager with 20+ years of experience to lead the planning, management and successful delivery of IT projects and programmes. You will be responsible for managing projects from initiation through completion, ensuring they are delivered within agreed timelines, budgets and quality standards while meeting client requirements and expectations.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Lead the initiation, planning and execution of IT projects and programmes.
• Develop, maintain and own detailed project plans, including milestone plans, timelines, deliverables and dependencies
• Define project objectives, scope, deliverables and key milestones in line with client requirements.
• Develop and manage project cost structures and budgets, monitoring expenditure and ensuring effective cost control.
• Track project progress, deliverables, milestones and overall performance against the agreed plan.
• Prepare and provide regular project status reports to management, clients and relevant stakeholders.
• Identify, assess and manage project risks, issues, dependencies and changes and take appropriate action to keep projects on track.
• Coordinate cross-functional project teams and ensure clear responsibilities, priorities and deliverables.
• Work closely with clients and stakeholders to understand requirements, manage expectations and ensure successful project delivery.
• Manage project-related contracts, commitments and commercial requirements where applicable.
• Monitor project progress and proactively address issues that may impact timelines, costs, quality or delivery.
• Resolve project issues and coordinate with relevant teams to ensure timely resolution.
• Apply established project management methodologies, processes and tools to ensure consistent and high-quality delivery.
• Maintain accurate project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure projects achieve agreed objectives, client expectations and delivery standards.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in project management processes and delivery practices.

Requirements

• 20+ years of proven experience in IT Project Management, Program Management or a similar project delivery role.
• Strong understanding of project management principles, methodologies, processes and tools.
• Extensive experience in project planning, scheduling, milestone management and delivery tracking.
• Strong experience managing project budgets, costs and commercial requirements.
• Proven experience in risk, issue, dependency and change management.
• Experience preparing and managing project plans, milestone plans, status reports and project documentation.
• Strong client and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional and geographically distributed project teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and drive timely resolution.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining project timelines, quality and cost objectives.
• Experience working with structured project delivery environments and recognised project management practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with senior stakeholders and project teams.
• A degree or equivalent qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Project Management or a related discipline would be advantageous.
